Police officers have arrested 15 suspects in the Western Region. This happened during an operation to stop illegal mining.

The suspects were caught with mining equipment. They were found at mining sites where they did not have permission to dig.

The Ghana Police Service conducted the raid. This action is part of a larger effort to combat illegal mining across the country.

Illegal mining, often called galamsey, causes significant environmental damage.

Authorities continue to work to ensure all mining activities are legal and safe.

The arrested individuals will face legal proceedings.
