The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat NAIMOS and the Blue Water Guards worked together. They conducted patrols on the Ankobra River.

The goal was to stop illegal mining activities. These activities are harming the river.

During their patrol on Monday March 9, the taskforce destroyed 50 machines. These machines were being used for illegal mining.

The patrols covered areas along the Ankobra River, starting from Gwira Banso.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to protect Ghana’s water bodies. Illegal mining remains a significant environmental threat.

Authorities are committed to enforcing laws against illegal mining. They aim to ensure the sustainability of natural resources.
