The Bono Regional Minister has publicly accused a Member of Parliament of orchestrating a cocoa smuggling operation aimed at destabilizing the current government. The allegations follow the recent apprehension of four individuals involved in illicit cocoa trade from neighboring Côte d’Ivoire.
The minister claims the Member of Parliament, identified as the Minority Chief Whip, is actively involved in fostering a syndicate that undermines national cocoa exports. Authorities are reportedly investigating the extent of the alleged syndicate's operations and its potential impact on the Ghanaian cocoa industry.
