A prominent illegal mining leader has been arrested by a combined security task force.
The arrest happened in the Birim North District, which is in the Eastern Region.
Security forces found GH₵400,000 in cash on the suspect.
This operation targeted illegal mining activities, often called galamsey in Ghana.
The Ghana Police Service has not yet detailed further charges.
The suspect will face legal proceedings following the investigation.
