Customs officers from the Ghana Revenue Authority have seized 560 diesel engines at the Tema Port. The engines were found during a routine inspection at the Golden Jubilee Terminal.

Officials suspect these engines were meant for use in illegal small-scale mining, commonly known as galamsey.

The seizure comes as part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal mining activities.

The specific type of engines seized is CHANG FANG diesel engines.

An investigation is underway to determine the origin and intended destination of the engines.
