Officers from the Ghana Revenue Authority Customs Division have seized 560 diesel engines at Tema Port.

The engines were found at the Golden Jubilee Terminal during a routine cargo check.

Customs officers flagged the shipment for closer inspection.

Authorities believe the engines are meant for illegal small-scale mining, known as galamsey.

The specific type of engines seized is CHANG FANG diesel engines.

Further investigations into the destination and intended use of the engines are underway.

This seizure is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the country.
