Officers from the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority seized 560 diesel engines at Tema Port. The engines were found at the Golden Jubilee Terminal.
Authorities suspect the engines were intended for illegal small-scale mining operations, commonly called galamsey.
The seizure marks an effort to combat the illegal mining trade.
Further investigations are proceeding.
