The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has apprehended 1,055 individuals in a coordinated operation aimed at dismantling organised street begging networks. The intelligence-led exercise focused on key areas within the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.

This significant bust is part of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and exploitation. The operation sought to identify and rescue potential victims and disrupt the criminal enterprises that profit from vulnerable individuals, particularly children, forced into street begging.
