The Ghana Immigration Service conducted two major operations last weekend. These actions targeted organized crime groups operating in the Greater Accra Region.
In Dawhenya, officers dismantled a large cyber fraud syndicate. This group was using computers to commit crimes.
Another raid in Ashaiman disrupted a ring involved in commercial sex work. Authorities worked to stop illegal activities.
During these operations, 85 individuals were rescued. These people were believed to be victims of human trafficking.
Additionally, 110 foreign nationals were detained. These individuals are being questioned in relation to the criminal activities.
The Ghana Immigration Service stated these operations were intelligence-led. They aimed to disrupt and dismantle criminal networks.
The suspects are facing charges related to human trafficking and cyber fraud.
These efforts are part of a broader crackdown on organized crime in Ghana.
