Police in the Northeast Region have arrested four individuals. They were found with 118 bags of cocoa beans. The beans weighed 11,800 kilograms.
The incident occurred on Sunday, August 9, 2026. It happened in Bunkpurugu, which is in the North East Region.
Authorities believe the suspects were attempting to smuggle the cocoa beans across the border into Togo.
The suspects are currently in police custody. Investigations into the smuggling attempt are ongoing.
