Authorities in the North East Region have apprehended four individuals in connection with the seizure of a significant quantity of cocoa beans. The operation took place near the Bunkpurugu border, a known transit point.

The suspects were allegedly attempting to smuggle 118 bags of cocoa beans, totaling 11,800kg, into Togo. The contraband was reportedly concealed under plantain in a Hyundai Rhino truck, indicating a sophisticated smuggling operation.
