Police have arrested a 75-year-old woman in the Ablekuma district of Accra. She is suspected of running an illegal lottery syndicate.
The arrest was made during an operation by the Ghana Police Service.
During the operation, police officers confiscated several documents. They also seized an undisclosed amount of cash from the woman's premises.
The woman is being held by the police as investigations continue.
Authorities are looking into the full extent of the alleged illegal lottery operations.
The suspects are currently detained pending further legal proceedings.
The Ghana Police Service stated that such operations disrupt public order and finances.
