The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority DVLA has uncovered a network involved in making fake number plates. They found approximately 30,000 fake plates.

This discovery came after investigations by the DVLA. The National Security Secretariat also provided support to the authority.

Julius Neequaye Kotey, the Chief Executive of the DVLA, announced the findings. He spoke to reporters in Accra about the criminal operation.

The fake plates were being produced and distributed illegally. This activity undermines the proper registration of vehicles.

The DVLA stated that this criminal network operated with significant reach. The exact number of individuals involved is part of an ongoing investigation.

Authorities are working to dismantle the entire network. Further actions will be taken against those involved in the illegal production and sale of these plates.

The DVLA aims to ensure all vehicle number plates are legitimate. This helps maintain road safety and national security.

This operation is a significant step in combating criminal activities within the vehicle licensing system.
