The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority DVLA is taking strong action against people who make and sell fake car number plates.
This crackdown follows the discovery of a criminal group involved in the illegal production and distribution of these plates.
The DVLA Chief Executive Julius Neequaye Kotey announced the operation. He stated the authority is working with the police.
These fake plates are used to avoid vehicle registration and identification processes.
The DVLA warns the public against using the services of middlemen often called Gooro Boys.
The authority aims to ensure all vehicles on the road have genuine, registered number plates.
This operation is part of efforts to improve road safety and catch unregistered vehicles.
