Customs officers found 560 diesel engines at the Golden Jubilee Terminal in Tema Port. The Preventive Unit of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority made the seizure.

Authorities suspect these engines were meant for illegal small-scale mining, often called galamsey.

The engines were intercepted during a routine operation.

This action is part of efforts to combat illegal mining and related activities.

Further investigations are underway into the suspected illegal use of the equipment.

The Customs Division continues its work to secure Ghana's borders and prevent the entry of items used for illicit purposes.
