Officers from the Preventive Unit of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority intercepted the engines.
The seizure happened at the Golden Jubilee Terminal at Tema Port.
A total of 560 CHANG FANG diesel engines were found.
Authorities suspect the engines are meant for illegal mining operations.
The Ghana Revenue Authority has not released further details on the investigation.
This action is part of efforts to curb illegal mining in the country.
