The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, known as NAFDAC, has identified Chinese criminal groups as the source of many fake products in Nigeria. These groups are reportedly operating within the country.

NAFDAC's Director of Investigation and Enforcement, Martins Iluyomade, stated that intelligence gathered points to these syndicates. They have changed their methods from simply importing fake items.

This shift means counterfeit and unsafe consumer goods are becoming more common. The agency is working to stop the spread of these dangerous products.

The operations of these syndicates pose a significant risk to public health and safety. NAFDAC is committed to protecting Nigerians from harmful fake goods.
