District Chief Executive Linda Ahenkora has declared war on illegal mining in the Akyemansa District. She personally leads the Akyemansa Anti-Galamsey Taskforce.
The taskforce has successfully seized more than 300 machines used for illegal mining. These seizures aim to disrupt and halt the destructive activities of galamsey operators.
In addition to equipment, the taskforce has apprehended 50 individuals suspected of engaging in illegal mining. These arrests are part of a broader effort to enforce mining laws in the region.
DCE Ahenkora described galamsey operators as her top priority to apprehend. Her leadership has brought renewed focus to combating this environmental menace.
