Abubakar Abba, who led the terrorist group Ansaru, has been sentenced to life in prison. The Abuja Federal High Court handed down the sentence.

Abba, also known as Abu Bara, pleaded guilty to terrorism charges. He was prosecuted by the Department of State Service.

His co-accused, Mahmud Usman, also known as Isah Adam or Mahmud, received the same sentence. They both admitted to the charges.

Ansaru is a group linked to Al-Qaeda. The court found them guilty of terrorism offenses.

The sentencing took place in Abuja. The exact date of the plea was Monday.
