Authorities have arrested 28 foreign nationals and several landlords in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region. The operation was conducted by a joint taskforce comprising the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Immigration Service.
The foreigners are suspected of entering Ghana unlawfully. They were allegedly found without the necessary legal documents and permits.
Landlords providing accommodation to these individuals were also taken into custody. They are suspected of aiding their illegal stay in the country.
The arrests were made at residences located in Pakyi No.1 and Pakyi No.2. These areas were targeted based on intelligence gathered by the taskforce.
