The Forestry Commission's Rapid Response Unit and the Bekwai Forest District have arrested 23 individuals. These arrests were made during an operation targeting illegal mining along the Oda River.

The operation occurred in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region. Specifically, arrests were made in the areas of Aburokyere, Bepotenten, and Sukuumu.
