Ghana's Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has reported seizing or freezing assets worth GH¢638.8 million between 2023 and 2026, while recovering approximately GH¢43.4 million between 2022 and 2026.
According to Chale News, which cited figures disclosed by the OSP on 27 October 2026, the largest component of the seized assets was GH¢516 million linked to a counterfeit currency syndicate in 2023.
The agency recorded approximately GH¢102.7 million in assets seized or frozen in 2025, including GH¢96.58 million in property and GH¢3.83 million in cash equivalents.
For 2026, the OSP reported GH¢20.12 million in seized or frozen assets, including luxury vehicles, a residential property and frozen bank accounts.
Actual recoveries included GH¢31.21 million in 2025 and GH¢8.27 million in 2026.
The figures cover different reporting periods and distinguish assets under seizure or restriction from money recovered. The OSP did not provide a timetable for converting the remaining assets into state revenue.
