An investigative committee into the August 2026 disturbances at Obuasi Senior High Technical School has found no evidence that the headmaster, Zakaria Abdulai, buried a foetus on the school compound.
According to the committee, no students or teachers witnessed the headmaster burying the foetus. The committee also found that an allegation that the headmaster's vehicle was seen at the burial site was unsupported by evidence. The investigation revealed that the Assistant Headmaster led a team that exhumed and reburied the remains.
The committee's report noted that wider problems at the school included weak security, staff factions, student gangs, and a breakdown of trust between the headmaster and sections of the school community. The findings are separate from a fresh investigation into another alleged case of sexual abuse against the headmaster, according to Adom Online.
The sexual abuse allegation is unproven, and the headmaster is presumed innocent unless proven otherwise.
