Traders at Santasi Market are appealing to the government. They claim the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) is charging excessive fees for shops in the redeveloped market.
The Santasi Market was demolished in 2022. This was done for redevelopment work.
Traders were promised they would be able to return to their stalls. This was to happen once the reconstruction was finished.
The traders state the new fees are too high for them to afford. They hope for government intervention to reduce the charges.
