Professional investigators from the Ghana Police Service in the Bono East Region have initiated a formal probe into the death of a 34 year old teacher. The deceased was identified as a staff member of the Forifori District Assembly Primary School according to a report by GhanaWeb. Officers discovered the body on Monday after colleagues and neighbors raised concerns regarding his whereabouts.
A report from MyJoyOnline indicates that the victim was found in his rented apartment with what appeared to be physical injuries. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing blood stains on the walls and furniture which suggested a struggle occurred prior to the teacher's death. Forensic teams have processed the room for evidence but no arrests have been announced yet by the regional command.
The Bono East Regional Police Command stated that the body has been transported to the Holy Family Hospital mortuary in Techiman. Medical professionals are expected to perform an autopsy to verify the exact cause of death while police continue to interview individuals who may have seen the victim in the hours leading up to the discovery. Adom News reported that the victim had recently relocated to the area for his teaching assignment.
Community leaders in Techiman have called for increased security and a swift resolution to the case. While some local residents expressed suspicions of foul play the regional police spokesperson emphasized that the investigation remains in its early stages. Authorities have requested that any members of the public with relevant information regarding the incident come forward to assist the Techiman Divisional Police.
