The Ghana Police Service announced the arrest of two individuals suspected of involvement in highway robberies within the Eastern Region. A statement issued by the police, and also reported by GhanaWeb, identified the suspects as Ibrahim Imoro and Osama Abdulai.
According to information from the Ghana Police Service, the arrests occurred on September 2, 2023, around 11:30 pm. The suspects were apprehended as part of extensive intelligence led operations aimed at curbing highway crime in the area.
MyJoyOnline initially reported the arrests, stating the individuals were suspected of being involved in a series of highway robberies. Subsequent reports from Citi Newsroom and GhanaWeb corroborated the arrests and identified the suspects by name.
The two suspects, Ibrahim Imoro and Osama Abdulai, are reportedly cooperating with police as investigations continue into the alleged robbery incidents in the Eastern Region, according to the Ghana Police Service.
