A woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for fraud. The Accra Circuit Court handed down the sentence on Friday.
The 38-year-old woman was found guilty of conspiracy to commit crime and fraudulent acquisition of property. She committed these acts against an investor seeking to grow their money.
Court documents show the investor lost GH₵150,000 due to the woman's actions. The court heard how the woman promised high returns but failed to deliver.
The sentence includes hard labour, meaning the convicted woman will have to perform difficult work during her imprisonment.
