Two people were arrested in Ashaiman on suspicion of impersonating National Security operatives. These individuals allegedly demanded money from traders by pretending to be officials.
Police reported that the suspects used fake identification cards to support their false claims. This allowed them to carry out their alleged extortion activities.
The arrests were made following investigations into their activities. The Ghana Police Service has not yet released further details regarding the individuals or the total amount of money extorted.
