Two men have been arrested in Kumasi. They are accused of pretending to be officers from the Ghana Revenue Authority GRA. The Ashanti Regional Police Command took them into custody.
The suspects are Kwadwo Mensah and Emmanuel Osei. They allegedly told traders they were customs officers.
The police report that the men demanded and took money from the traders. This is known as extortion. It is against the law to pose as an official to get money.
Authorities received information about the pair. This led to their arrest in Kumasi. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
