An Accra Circuit Court has ordered a trader to be held by the police. The 42-year-old suspect faces charges of fraud.

He is accused of collecting GHS500,000 from several investors. The court filing states the money was taken under the guise of high-return investment opportunities.

These promised returns, however, did not materialize. Investors reported their losses to the authorities.

The Ghana Police Service arrested the suspect. He was brought before the court on June 10, 2026.

The court has remanded him in police custody. This is to allow for further investigations into the alleged fraud.

The case highlights the risks associated with unregulated investment schemes.

Authorities urge the public to exercise caution when considering investment opportunities, especially those promising unusually high returns.

Further court proceedings are expected as the investigation continues.
