The Adenta Circuit Court has granted Salomey Awiti Baffoe, a 40-year-old nurse from Techiman, bail of GHC100,000, requiring two justified sureties. She faces charges of abetting the publication of false news in connection with a tiktoker known as Ghana Jollof. Lawyers for Madam Awiti Baffoe argued for her release, noting she had been in police custody for three weeks. The prosecution did not oppose the bail application. The presiding judge stipulated that the sureties must be civil servants earning at least GHC3000. Additionally, Madam Awiti Baffoe is required to report to the Hesua Police station for investigation updates every two weeks. The case has been adjourned to February 17 for its continuation, according to 3News.
