Authorities in Thailand have apprehended six Nigerian nationals suspected of operating a sophisticated romance scam ring. The operation reportedly leveraged artificial intelligence to generate fake profiles and conduct fraudulent video calls.
The arrests were made in Nonthaburi, Thailand, where investigators uncovered the alleged scheme. The scam is believed to have targeted individuals through deceptive online interactions, utilizing AI-generated faces and fabricated video calls to build trust and extract money.
