Minister for Communications and Digitalisation Samuel Nartey George announced new measures to combat mobile money fraud. The announcement came amid concerns over rising fraud cases involving mobile money transactions.

Mr. George explained that the upcoming SIM re-registration exercise is designed to deter criminals. He believes this will make it much more expensive for fraudsters to operate.

The minister also stated that individuals involved in mobile money fraud will face consequences. He indicated that caught fraudsters would be denied access to various government services.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance cybersecurity and protect citizens from financial crimes.
