Police in Odumase-Krobo have arrested three individuals suspected of operating a fake currency ring. The operation led to the seizure of over one million US dollars in counterfeit money.

The suspects were apprehended on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. This followed an intelligence-led operation by the Odumase-Krobo Police Command.

During the arrest, the suspects allegedly attempted to bribe the arresting officers. They offered GHC200,000 to escape prosecution. The police rejected the bribe.

The Eastern Regional Police command confirmed the details. Detective Corporal Williams Asante led the operation.

The suspects are currently in police custody. Further investigations into the network behind the counterfeit currency are underway.
