Police in Odumase-Krobo have arrested three people caught with more than one million US dollars in fake currency. The arrests happened on Wednesday March 11 2026 following a tip from the public.

The Eastern Regional Police command reported that intelligence led the Odumase-Krobo Police to conduct operations. Detective Corporal Williams Asante led the team that made the arrest.

During the arrest, the suspects offered the police GH¢200,000 as a bribe. The police refused the money and proceeded with the arrests.

The fake currency seized totals over one million US dollars. The exact amount is still being counted.

Authorities stated that the police command is committed to fighting crime and corruption. They will not accept bribes for any reason.

The suspects are currently in police custody. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the counterfeit operation.
