Police in Odumase-Krobo have arrested three individuals in connection with a counterfeit currency operation. The suspects were found with more than one million US dollars in fake money.

During the apprehension, the individuals attempted to bribe the police officers. The attempted bribe amounted to GH¢200,000.

The arrests occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. This followed intelligence-led operations by the Odumase-Krobo Police Command.

Detective Corporal Williams Asante led the team that made the arrests. The Eastern Regional Police command provided oversight for the operation.

Authorities have confirmed the seizure of the counterfeit currency. The bribe money offered to the police was also confiscated.

The investigation into the counterfeit syndicate is ongoing. Police are working to uncover the full extent of their operations.
