Police in Odumase-Krobo have arrested three suspects carrying more than one million US dollars in fake currency. The arrest happened on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
The suspects attempted to bribe the police officers with GH¢200,000 following their apprehension. The Eastern Regional Police command confirmed the incident.
The operation was based on intelligence gathered by the Odumase-Krobo Police Command. Detective Corporal Williams Asante led the team that made the arrests.
Authorities rejected the bribe offered by the counterfeit currency syndicate. The money seized is in US dollars.
The investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the syndicate's operations.
