Police officers in Odumase Krobo refused a bribe. The bribe was offered by suspects after police seized a large amount of suspected fake money.
The amount of money refused was GH¢200,000. The suspects allegedly offered this money to influence the police.
Police discovered 105 bundles of what are believed to be counterfeit US dollars. These were hidden inside a metal trunk.
The discovery and subsequent bribe refusal happened in Odumase Laasi. This is a community within the Odumase Krobo area.
The Ghana Police Service has not yet released further details on the arrested suspects.
Investigations into the origin of the suspected fake currency are ongoing.
