Police in Odumase Krobo have rejected a GH¢200,000 bribe. The bribe was offered by suspects apprehended in connection with a large seizure of suspected counterfeit US dollars.
The discovery was made at Odumase Laasi. Officers found 105 bundles of what appeared to be fake US dollar notes.
These suspected counterfeit notes were concealed inside a metal trunk.
The suspects attempted to bribe the police officers with GH¢200,000.
The Ghana Police Service has stated that its officers refused the bribe. They are committed to upholding the law and ensuring justice.
The suspects are now in police custody. Further investigations into the source of the fake currency are ongoing.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts by the police to combat financial crimes and counterfeiting within the region.
