Police officers in Odumase Krobo have refused a bribe of GH¢200,000. The money was offered by suspects after police seized a large amount of alleged counterfeit US dollars.
The illegal currency was discovered hidden inside a metal trunk. The trunk was found at Odumase Laasi.
Authorities took possession of 105 bundles of these suspected fake US dollar notes. The value of the seized notes has not been confirmed.
The suspects attempted to bribe the police to avoid arrest and confiscation of the fake money. The Ghana Police Service stated the bribe was rejected.
Officers proceeded with the arrest of the involved individuals. They are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
