Police officers in Odumase Krobo received and then refused a bribe totaling GH¢200,000. This happened after they found a large quantity of suspected fake US dollars.
Authorities discovered 105 bundles of the counterfeit currency. These were found hidden inside a metal trunk.
The discovery and the subsequent bribe attempt occurred at Odumase Laasi. The police have not named the suspects at this stage.
A Ghana Police Service statement confirmed the money was seized by officers in the Eastern Region.
The suspects will face charges related to the counterfeit currency. The police commended the officers for their integrity.
