Police in Odumase Krobo have refused a large bribe from individuals suspected of dealing in fake US dollars. The incident occurred after police found counterfeit money hidden in a metal trunk.
Officers discovered 105 bundles of suspected fake US dollar notes. The money was concealed in a metal trunk located at Odumase Laasi.
Suspects then attempted to bribe the police officers. They offered a sum of GH¢200,000 to prevent their arrest and the confiscation of the fake currency.
The police officers rejected the bribe. They proceeded with the arrest of the suspects and secured the counterfeit money.
The Ghana Police Service stated that the suspects are now in police custody. Investigations into the origin of the fake dollars are underway.
