Police officers in Odumase Krobo have refused a bribe of GH¢200,000. This happened after they confiscated a large amount of suspected fake US dollars.

The money, consisting of 105 bundles, was found hidden inside a metal trunk. The discovery was made in the Odumase Laasi area.

According to a Ghana Police Service statement, the suspects offered the bribe in an attempt to avoid arrest and confiscation of the counterfeit currency.

The police took action following a tip-off about suspicious activity. An operation was launched that led to the seizure of the fake money.

This action by the police demonstrates their commitment to upholding the law. They did not succumb to corruption when faced with a significant financial temptation.

The suspects involved are now in police custody. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the counterfeit operation.
