Police in Odumase Krobo have seized a large amount of suspected fake US dollars. The discovery was made in Odumase Laasi after officers intercepted the suspects.
Authorities found 105 bundles of what appeared to be counterfeit US dollar notes. These fake bills were hidden inside a metal trunk.
During the operation, individuals connected to the suspected counterfeit money attempted to bribe the police. They offered GH¢200,000 to influence the officers.
Named officials from the Ghana Police Service confirmed that the bribe was rejected. The officers upheld their duty and did not accept the money.
The suspects are now in police custody. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the operation and identify other individuals involved.
