Police officers in Odumase Krobo have seized a large quantity of suspected fake US currency. The discovery was made in the Odumase Laasi area.
During the operation, officers found 105 bundles of what is believed to be counterfeit US dollar notes. These were concealed inside a metal trunk.
After the seizure, individuals connected to the counterfeit money attempted to bribe the police. They offered an amount of GH¢200,000 to the officers.
Law enforcement officials rejected the bribe. The police statement confirmed the refusal of the illegal payment.
The suspects involved in the incident are now in police custody.
Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the counterfeit operation.
