Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested a 32-year-old man. He is suspected of defrauding women through social media and online dating platforms.
The Ghana Police Service stated that the suspect allegedly posed as someone he was not to gain the trust of his victims.
Authorities report that at least 23 women have come forward. They claim the suspect obtained money and gifts from them under false pretences.
The arrests were made by the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
The investigation began after several complaints were filed by the victims.
The suspect is currently in police custody.
Further police inquiries are expected to reveal more details about the extent of the alleged fraud.
