Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested a 35-year-old man named Samuel Adu. He is accused of defrauding a woman of GHS 80,000.
The Ghana Police Service stated that Adu allegedly promised the victim he could secure her a scholarship for landguard duties. He also allegedly promised investment opportunities.
The alleged fraud occurred prior to the arrest. Details of how the transactions were made were not immediately available.
The suspect is in police custody. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
