The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has suspended three pharmacies across Ghana due to suspected fraud and irregularities in their claims processing. The decision, which took effect on May 14, 2026, aims to safeguard the integrity of the NHIS.

The affected facilities are DELDEM PHARMA LIMITED, PARAMEDICA PHARMACY, and DESH CHEMIST. While the NHIA has not disclosed the full extent of the alleged fraudulent activities, the suspension indicates a serious breach of the scheme's operational guidelines. Further investigations are expected to shed more light on the matter.
