Major League Soccer has banned two Ghanaian players, Derrick Jones and Yaw Yeboah, from playing football for life. This decision was announced on Monday.

The two players were found to have violated the league's gambling policy. The MLS conducted an investigation into their actions.

Derrick Jones, who is 29 years old, played in 23 games for Columbus Crew in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He is a midfielder.

Yaw Yeboah, aged 28, was formerly Jones' teammate at Columbus Crew. He then joined Los Angeles FC in January 2025.

The specific details of their gambling violations were not fully disclosed by the league. The ban is effective immediately.

The league stated this action is to uphold the integrity of the sport. Gambling by players on any soccer match is strictly forbidden.

This decision means Jones and Yeboah cannot participate in any MLS matches or related football activities going forward.

Both players are Ghanaian nationals who were playing professionally in the United States.
