A man is in custody after appearing before an Accra Circuit Court. He faces charges of fraud.
The Accra Circuit Court heard that the accused allegedly took GH¢40,000 from a businesswoman.
This money was reportedly given for the purpose of securing a scholarship for the woman's daughter.
Prosecutors told the court that the accused did not intend to provide the scholarship.
He allegedly received the money under false pretenses.
The man has been remanded in custody as investigations continue.
